Special Kids Foundation's 7th Annual Wine, Chocolate & Beer Festival

RINA was proud to be the event sponsor for the Special Kids Foundation’s 7th Annual Wine Chocolate & Beer Festival. The event was held on Saturday, May 11th at the Hannah Nicole Vineyards in Brentwood. Hannah Nicole Vineyards was joined by 8 other wineries, 8 breweries with an overall attendance of 600 people.
The Foundation works to promote the education, awareness, and success of all families with children who have special needs of every kind. They aim to provide support, friendships, and a “one-ness” with these incredibly challenged families, while providing them with the resources to navigate the difficult road of raising these “Special Kids” to be productive, happy, successful adults regardless of their disabilities. The organization strives to serve the whole family and to aid in the preservation of each family as a working, functioning unit.
In 2012, the Foundation worked with the city of Brentwood to complete the building of their universal abilities playground. Also in 2012, the Special Kids Foundation completed their 2nd annual Assistive Technology Program (ATP). This program provides students with special needs a fully loaded iPad for use in the classroom.
Chris DeMay, Tax Manager in our San Francisco office, has been on the Special Kids board of directors since 2007. Chris has also served the special needs community by working with Special Haven’s board of directors to establish their tax exempt status.
