RINA Accountants & Advisors feels a need to join those in and beyond our community that are calling for an end to hate crimes against Asians.
We are saddened, appalled, and frightened at the increase of animosity, taunting, and violence targeting the Asian and Pacific Islander community. These are attacks against all of us; family, coworkers, clients and friends.
Particularly disturbing are the number of assaults directed at older or infirm Asians. These actions haves disrupted the daily lives of too many who now feel unsafe in their own neighborhoods.
Our thoughts are with all the attack victims including local residents Xiao Zhen Xie, 75 years old, and Ngoc Fam, 83 years old. And to those who have died from their injuries, 84-year-old Vicha Ratanapakdee and 75-year-old Mr. Park Ho.
Throughout its history RINA has been fortunate to have been strengthened by team members of Asian heritage. From Paul Ida, a founding partner of the firm, to the many dozens of talented professionals and support staff, we would not be RINA without these team members’ contributions over the past 75 years.
We stand with them and the AAPI communities in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the country.
As a token of our concern RINA will donate $1,000 to San Francisco’s Chinatown Community Development Center’s Feed + Fuel Chinatown 2.0 effort.
This program will provide 300,000 meals to Chinatown SRO residents with the goals of SRO resident safety in the time of COVID, SRO resident food security, saving Chinatown restaurants, and local employment.
We invite you to join us in supporting this community initiative.
We will work to end violence against Asians.
