COVID-19 Updates Alert

4/11/2020
April 10, 2020
Authorities are announcing COVID-19 relief programs and regulations quickly, and the details of implementation can be confusing and seemingly contradictory.
RINA Accountants & Advisors is closely monitoring government actions and public decisions that are affecting businesses and individuals. This alert tells the latest tax deadlines and discusses the actions we are taking to share information with our clients and community.
First, because of the COVID-19 crisis, the Federal and California governments have pushed back the deadline for many tax payments and filings. The latest change -- the due tax for Federal estimated payments -- occurred yesterday afternoon!
The due dates are listed below as of the publication of this alert. RINA will update this webpage if/when other dates change.
The Federal and California due dates are:
- Individuals, corporations, and other income tax filings originally due 4/15 are now due 7/15, with some exceptions including but not limited to 5227 and payroll tax returns.
- When in doubt, please ask your RINA representative or file an extension.
- Balance due for 2019 is now due 7/15
- First quarter 2020 estimated taxes are due 7/15
- First and Second quarter 2020 estimated taxes are due 7/15 (updated April 9, 2020)
Earlier this week 300 participants heard from RINA professionals on a wide-range of COVID-19 relief and regulatory topics. We appreciated the positive feedback, and apologize that we ran out of time before addressing many of the questions.
We are responding to the requests to provide more information in two ways.
Second webinar scheduled to provide additional and updated insights.
We hope you will join us on Tuesday, April 14th at 1:30 pm PDT to discuss the business and tax implications of the crisis further in a second in a series of free, public webinars.
The topics will include:
- Rebate checks and tax law changes
- Unemployment and the expansion of the Family and Medical Leave Act
- Payroll issues such as employee retention credit and tax delay
- SBA and PPP Loan programs
Please complete the registration form online.
Publishing Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
In addition to scheduling a second webinar, our professionals have been compiling a list of FAQ based on inquiries submitted during the broadcast and afterwards by email.
This list of FAQ will be emailed to seminar participants as soon as it's completed... and it's almost there. However, we urge everyone to check our website for the COVID-19 FAQ page.
The PDF will be static, but the web page FAQ will be dynamic.
If you have questions on the topics that you would like us to address during the next webinar, please email them to us. We cannot promise that we will get to all questions sent in, but we will be as responsive as possible.
Tuesday's Q&A event is the second in a series of free forums to assist the community through the COVID-19 crisis. Dates and times of additional webinars and discussions will be announced via email and posted on the RINA website and social media.
Please, reach out to us if you have any questions or if we can help in anyway. We are here to be of service.
