Teresa Fluegel is a Senior Vice President of Chicago Deferred Exchange Company (CDEC), the nation's premier provider of IRC Section 1031 Like-Kind Exchange services. Teresa is responsible for providing consulting services to real estate and tax attorneys, accountants, investors and commercial real estate professionals across the country focusing on the West Coast. She earned the professional designation of Certified Exchange Specialist in 2004 and has the expertise that comes from direct involvement with thousands of tax deferred exchanges of real property. She has participated in several panel discussions, including the California Real Property Retreat and at UC Berkeley.

 

Our Panelists:

James H. Abrams is a partner at Greene Radovsky Maloney Share & Hennigh LLP. His career as a lawyer was preceded by a ten-year career in government and banking in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco. His current practice focuses on commercial and multifamily real estate finance, and he has substantial experience in all facets of real estate lending including construction and permanent lending, securitized loans, ground lease financing, hotel financing, and vineyard and winery loans. Jim is a member of Fannie Mae's Legal Counsel Working Group and has been a presenter for the Fannie Mae Legal Issues Forum. Jim has been named one of San Francisco's "Super Lawyers" in his field by Super Lawyers Magazine. 

Cheryl Hayes is currently the Vice President of SBA Originations for Bank of the West. In this role she helps small and medium sized businesses grow by providing them the financiang they need to acquire real estate, equipment, and working capital. Prior to Bank of the West, Cheryl provided SBA lending while with California Bank & Trust and various real estate and SBA financing while at GE Capital. Cheryl has her MBA from UC Berkeley and her BS from Purdue University, and Cheryl graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School in September 2015.

Elizabeth A. Swift began her commercial real estate career as a broker in Washington D.C. After earning an MA and PhD in American Studies, she landed in the Bay Area in 2006. Since that time, she has worked at several banks and now at Bridge Bank, where she specializes in construction lending, from $5MM to $50MM. She is past-president of CREW East Bay and is a board member of Rebuilding Together Oakland-East Bay.
